Having just moved to NW PA from LA, seeing a Japanese grocer was great, especially compared to upper Erie area. I drove the 90 minutes to get to the store. I will say the selection is nothing like what I had at home in LA, BUT it had the essentials I needed for Oshougatsu.

Wow!! What a gem!! We just moved to the region and are avid Japanese food consumers. This store is small but has all the necessities. Please support them! It’s so important to support small businesses like this one. They’ve had to raise prices due to tariffs so they are a little higher than some surrounding stores but for Pittsburgh to have such a great Japanese store option is a treasure!! If you can financially support then please do! We are on a budget and went here first to buy some products before going to other stores just so that we give them support and business!!

So much good stuff I recognized from Japan. The staff even helped me pick out a few things and suggested ways to cook some stuff. 10/10 best market around!

Awesome little Japanese grocery. Their onigiri is delicious. So many products that you don't see at the other markers in the Strip District. I love coming to this store. The staff are always extremely polite and helpful.

We love this little store. It’s more important than ever to support small businesses and especially those that rely on international imports (due to tariffs). The fresh cooked Yakiniku bento is phenomenal - yakiniku beef, rice, pickled radish, pickled ginger, egg, egg roll, seaweed salad - all perfectly portioned and $12 (as of April 2025). Please continue to support these businesses that are the backbone of Pittsburgh culture.

What a gem of a market. I recently moved to Pittsburgh from NYC and have lived on both coasts. I was worried that it would be difficult to find Japanese cooking ingredients, snacks, sashimi, and the like. I’m used to going to chain stores like Mitsuwa and Nijiya in California or Sunrise Mart in NYC. This small store has all the food products I would expect to find and at very good prices. I just got back from Japan and have been incorporating more of a Japanese diet since I got back. They have produce such as: shiso, gobo, daikon, Japanese cabbage, satoimo, renkon… and all of the essential cooking sauces and ingredients to make umami dishes at home. I also noticed that they offer Japan-grown rice along with other good short grain varieties. We’ve bought their sashimi a handful of times and make bowls with it at home. It’s fresh and reasonably priced. I’m so happy that they’re in the neighborhood, as we don’t have any other Japanese markets nearby. I noticed that they just changed their hours so they are open later, until 7PM Tuesday-Saturday. They had a small selection of home goods, including Zojirushi rice cookers; but I’d love to see them sell more home, beauty, and stationery products if that is ever feasible. I really look forward to supporting them more. The man and woman who work in the store are always pleasant, much more so than other markets I’ve been to in the area. It’s nice to see them and chat with them. I initially came here because I was having a hard time finding a loaf of shokupan (milk bread) and they have a big selection of it from a good bakery in the freezer. Wonderful!! ありがとうございました。

Love going here, always something neat to buy. My daughter is hooked on their onigiri. Good prices on tofu and a number of other staples as well.

Cute little store. Not much larger than a bodega. Plenty of Japanese snacks, basic supplies like chopsticks, some food. Also looks like he had books or manga in there. Really cute little store. Not as much stuff as many of the other Asian grocery stores but this one is specifically for Japanese stuff.
